Yes, they are exacly the same. The concept of RUM was invented by The (brilliant) Avon Lady. RUM sets the standards for how a historic mission should be presented. For example, it gives the rules for the format of the HTML history file, the readme, and the naming conventions, etc. I wanted to be as complient as possible, but I had only one problem with the rules. By the rules of RUM, the name of the mission should be RUM 441224, U486 which is an abreviation for "The Events of 24 December, 1944 as Experienced by U-486. However, I thought the name was a bit akward for people not familiar with all the numbers and what they mean. I thought the name "Leopoldville" both sounded smoother and fit in better with the included historic missions that have names like "Barham" (The intention of the RUM naming convention was to make the mission stand out from the list of missions, not fit in). I compromised and included both names. This will be a feature of all of my historic missions (yes, there are more to come).
Bottom Line- Install the folder that has the name you like and delete the other. They are both the same in content.
Thank you for downloading my mission, I hope you enjoy |

Yes, those are the only 2 I know of, however, some time ago a feela by the name of Red Devil posted a really good, historic U-1195 mission (Similar in context to mine, the late war sinking of a troopship in the English Channel):
http://hometown.aol.co.uk/dominicobaggio/Singleplayermissions.html
There are also some good historic multiplayer missions floating around too, somewhere but I don't remember for sure the website.
Anyway, I have a few more RUMs in the works, be patient. |
