i really shouldn't be showing this right now, but seeing it's been a while since my last bit of news... here's two ingame test shots of the interior of the Gato/Balao sub...

they're work in progress shots... still a bit to do, but i'm gonna show em anyways...

this looks like it's gonna be it... and though there are a few minor changes (the aux helm instruments for example) and additions (the echo sounder in the center of the con) to be made, this is close to what the first one is gonna look like...

bumpmapping and some of the more exotic graphic stuff is gonna be left out of the first one... to much for me to do, and too much for some machines to handle comfortably...

hey, it's not perfect... but it comes close enough to the interior of a real WWII and Post War era sub, to make you feel right at home at 200 feet... besides, it's as close as i can come right now without spending another 6 months tweaking it...

oh, and don't pay too much attention to the floor... that texture in there is a place holder from one of my favorite games Cool

more news soon...

Well, that looks amazing!

I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.

Also, feel free to post pics more. I find myself checking in quite a bit for recent news of your work.

Who is looking at the floor? I am too busy gawking at all the other great stuff in the shots.

Why is most of the interior just a plain texture and not geometrical?
These days comp can handle complex mesh environments.
Oh well i know you're been doing this for so long and you've been doing it with those days standarts.

I'm looking forward to see a Beta release soon Thumbs Up

primarily because you are looking at a work in progress... the dials, controls switches, intrument faces, crew members, additional piping, and a few other things that will be part of the interior, aren't in the scene pictured...

now i know that modern computers can handle a lot of geometry and all... but when you add all of the above that is not pictured into the scene, well... i don't want to have it so that someone is gonna need to have the latest and greatest mobo and gpu available to run it...

there will be more 'stuff' to see...
