AFAIK the search index is cleaned so often that search is not performing satisfactory anyway.
But at the moment this is necessary to keep the server happy  |

I would think the server would work far less when searching for terms in thread titles only versus through entire message contents.  |

I would think the server would work far less when searching for terms in thread titles only versus through entire message contents. |
Index file is often 180MB big (As Neal told us) that is why it is deleted often. Resulting in older posts not showing up in a search. |

I was just meaning the search function is "totally" broke anyway, so why bother asking neal to install a mod to tweak the search feature.
But I agree. An option to search subject title would be nice.
We should also remember the modding any PHPBB forum will often make autoupdates of the forum impossible. Meaning the changed code from the update has to be edited manually.
And we all know Neal hates updates. I think he is still dreaming for the Matts Script Archive forums  |
