Outstanding book by CAPT Edward Beach (Run Silent Run Deep). Read it while I was out to sea last month. Fictional, but has a good feel for WWII sub combat. Little bit of Soap Opera drama thrown in, but the action makes it worth the read. |

always felt run silent, run deep was a better read. the main character is 2 totally different people in each book -- a lot colder in dust on the sea. plus the bit about escaping from a nip escort was a bit hokey. |
