I have seen die untergang on dvd . This movie depicts the last days of adolf hitler bases on the memory of his the surivors in the bunker and hes hencmen . Played by the briliant actor bruno ganz. The movie has a real shock factor thanks to great actor work . It has a simulair atmosphere like seen in das boot . The germans are great at creating a objective atmosphere that american movies lack due to allways romaticizing reality . DIE untergang however shows the total madness that still casts a horrible shadow over even the last days of war . endless senseless killing and mass suicide and shows what national socialism can make people do to each other and themselves even in hopeless situations . You also see a human side of adolf hitler that allso makes this movie potentially dangerous cuase you allmost feel sympathy for this man in his last days , But this is overpowerd when hitler shows his roothless side together with panic attacks . However he does not feel sorry for himself when he does take is own life and allthough the man has great illusions he does not have any regarding the fact there is no where to hide and the only way out is suicide. But also he had a gentlemen side to him . For example when he eats his last meal and politly thanks the female cook for the lovely meal proir to commiting suicide and saying . This is it , now its all over and gracefully thanks anyone left in the hirachy. This is a movie you must see , even though donitz does not make an apearance .

Ive seen this 3 times allready hehe.. tought me a few things also, I diden't know he got married to Eva Braun for one.
I must admit i felt pity for the man in the end when he was obviously losing his mind and had lost all sense of reality.
Diffently a must see movie.
