Well here she is!

Two things to remember the torpedoes only work at Periscope Depth or below and when submerged shut off your engines (*) and turn up the throttle to lower RPMs (+ twice for flank speed). Currently VS doesn’t’ support multiable engines so this is the only way I can simulate Diesel and Electric motors.

Comments, questions and gripes welcome!

I hadn't realized before that is an expansion for another sim.
I'll try it for sure, IF I'll purchase Virtual Sailor (not that soon).

TLAM,

I raised this in the general forum and expressed my surprise to see a sailing simulator in the shops (didn'T heared of it before). You obviously know Virt. Sailor, I just saw some screenshots of Virt. Skipper 3 so far. What is it like, is it a good one? What does it do, what do you (the player) do? I admit it doesn't make much sense to me right now. how compare both games to each other, in case you know both titles?

And then, don't take it personal, please, my question: a sub-addon - in a sailing-sim? Isn't this like boarding a ship with parachutes, or a nuclear reactor for a cigarette lighter? Maybe I only ask because I have no impression of what the software does.

Edited: thought twice about it now. there are also train sims out there. Maybe it is not an excentric idea at all to make a sailing sim. But I am still not getting used to the thought. It's so new to me ! Very Happy

VS also has power cruisers and speedboats, as well as some other engine-powered craft.

Well in VS nearly any nautical craft can be simulated not just sailboats. VS also lets you walk around your boat, which is the main reason I make boats for it since until SHIII came out no other subsim let you do that.

Skybird,

Virtual Skipper 3 is a superb sail-racing game. Great graphics especially the ocean and you have a virtual crew for hoisting sails etc. Good geographical areas as well, such as Sydney harbour.

VS is a private project of a good standard for what it is, but only offers a set wind speed and direction for a 'mission', with no veering or speed changes, whcih VS3 does offer.

VS does have a lot of add-on ships of all types which can be fun to sail - but only really on a pleasure cruise.

Vs is great looking and the vehicles made for it are whatever the moddelers make, be it motorboats, sailboats, to airplanes, submarines, to torpedos, and naval vessels. Just whatever ppl have made.
