|

I like this game. It has got me thinking and reading more about submarine warfare, naval combat, good submarine movies I'd like to watch.
I'm curious as to what other movies regarding this issue others like or admire the work in. Perhaps someone will list one I don't know and I will be interested in obtaining.
What are some good submarine/naval combat movies?
I'll start the list.
The usual mentions are:
Hunt for Red October
Crimson Tide
Das Boat
Run Silent, Run Deep
The Enemy Below (Kind of corny in a way but I like it)
The Bedford Incident (I really like this one because it is a good hunt and chase film. Plenty of character development and suspense.)
What do you recommend? |

your list is a good one... better than good, you've made note of The Bedford Incident, one of the greatest, and one of the least mentioned...
... but,
you forgot ICE STATION ZEBRA!!!
gotta rank up there with the Kurt Juergens flick on the corny scale... but i just luv the heck out of it... and they just relased it on dvd too...

I've got Ice Station Zebra. I don't have it on DVD but I did see it did come out on disc like you said. I forgot to add it to the list. I was actually thinking of watching it tonight but I may go with "The Bedford Incident. You just cannot go wrong with Richard Widmark. |

Destination Tokyo
Up Periscope (with James Garner as a UDT/Frogman)
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea (the Disney version, with James Mason, Kirk Douglas, Paul Lukas and Peter Lorre)
Good surface naval combat movies:
Sink The Bismarck!
Battle of the River Plate
Captain Horatio Hornblower
Moby Dick
For some sub movies I would very much like to see, but haven't, check out this site:
