Finally picked up a copy of Hell In The Pacific on DVD. 1968, Lee Marvin and Toshiro Mifune, directed by John Boorman.
Two great actors, one great movie. I think I've mentioned it before in another thread, but I haven't actually watched it in, oh, thirty years. Still one of the best. :sunny:
Oh, and the DVD includes the original ending they wanted, but didn't make it to the screen. |

What was the ending they wanted? One reason I didn't care for the movie was the ending, so I'd like to know what it was supposed to be. |

The last scene is longer. They both finish putting on the new clothes, give each other a sad, regretful look, and then go their separate ways. Sad, but not stupid like the tacked-on theatrical ending. |
