Is this about Ruskie sub “Clementine”?
I remember in “The Silent War” John Craven said it might have launched its SLBMs but a safeguard blew the missiles up and took the sub down with it! |

If you are talking about the K-219, I have read "Hostile Waters", written from the russian side... The last thing that that sub would have been able to do in its state was firing its missiles... |

No I'm talking about the GULF in the Pacific (K-129). The CIA raised the boat years latter and found its missiles gone. |
