In the Doctrine of SCX lack the file “SurfAtkSub” because in “SurfAvoidSub” is the following orders :

IF ( TgtID $= "HOSTILE" ) OR ( TgtSource $= "Active Intercept" ) THEN {
IF NOT ( Order $= "Track" ) AND NOT ( TgtID $= "FRIEND" ) THEN {
DebugOut "Switching from Avoid to Attack"
SetTactic "SurfAtkSub"
} ELSE {
;

The file “SurfAtkSub” does not exist in directory of doctrines. Then the surface platforms does not attack to the subs.

Am I missing something because I have had the SCX series since it's release and have been harassed, attacked and on occasion sunk by a skimmer. So in my experience surface vessels do attack subs. Thumbs Up

IIRC Thomas took it out as it was redundent due to built in doctrine that is hardcoded.

Hi Rompedor

The Doctrine you refer to, .. and the Doctrine you found it in .. i.e. SurfAvoidSub ... are not used by SCX.

I was working on some stuff for the Surface Ships, .. but, it was all still in testing.

The 'SurfAvoidSub' doctrine was accidently zipped up with the other SCX Doctrines, Database & models etc..

I'll look at the Surface stuff again, .. once Dangerous Waters is released .. Very Happy

My apologies for the confusion ... Confused

Cheers
Tom

There are a number of them which weren't implemented.. such as "radiotransmit" or whatever.

Jamie said few of them never got fully implemented and it was just a bonus that we got to deal with them. I'm not bitchin either.
