Will DW have launch transients visible and or audible and will the auto crew announce them? |

it's about launching of asw missiles, but also applies to normal torpedo launches, but of course if it's a torpedo you will hear it anyways very soon after it hits the water |

Thanks guys. Spectator, thanks for the link. I finally have (I think) :hmm: a grasp on the issue. The question still remains whether or not DW will have a crewmember alert you to launch transients. In all those sub movies I love the sonar man always reports the enemy's tube flooding and outer doors opening. Don't know if that's all Hollywood or has some basis in fact. Since you can see these transients on BB seems only logical that auto crew would notify you. That actually leads me to another question. Is it possible/effective (in RL or in SC/DW) to "go dead in the water, shut everything down and make like hole in the ocean?" |

Not in a nuclear submarine. They have equipment that cannot be shut down, lest the reactor goes out of control. Diesels can do this easily though... |
