Does anyone know what the criteria will be for selecting BETA testers? Can I sign up for the BETA Test? What do you have to do?

Well, we could all line up and let Jamie fire potshots at us, the last 10 remaining will be in the beta testcrew |

Great stuff! Posted my application as we speak.
I love the questions being asked in the application form - very well chosen! Especially those about what was good and what was bad in the beta tests you participated before. I hope my short treatise in those form fields won't bore Jamie to death \
What is missing in the appllication form is being able to fill details about more than one PC. I have several PCs available at home and at the office and could test DW on all of them (not just one PC).

I filled mine out last night around 9pm, and Jamie posted the sticky at 8:30pm, if only they would select based on who gets their application in first, but i doubt.
What stinks is that I have never been involved with any other beta test, and I hope that doesn't ruin my chances to participate, because I would love to get involved.
As for multiple computers, I totally agree. The reqs on this game are not as demanding as some of the others out there, so I can load it on my laptop and run multi-stations from both my pc and laptop at home. I am so excited about that. |

Hi
What I'd really like to know is ... who Beta tested the Beta Application form.
I could only enter the specs for my 'Big Beastie', ... but, there was no provision for the GeForce 6 Graphic cards, ... so, I left it as 'other'.
Bring on dem Vertex and Pixel shaders ...
Good Luck to all those who volunteer (ed) ...
Cheers

Hey TexasAggie99,
I feel that the former military members of Subsim will be ultilized in a way that will make up for the fact that we haven't BETA tested or don't mod the graphics. :hmm: |

They do have a field(s) asking about former real life military and naval experience so they seem to allow it to make up for the fact that someone haven't BETA tested or doesn't mod the graphics.

I wonder how many BETA testers Sonalyst are looking at and if they will differenciate between US and Euro players due to time differences. |

Hi
I think that Sonar732 misunderstood my reference to ... 'Vertex and Pixel Shaders'.
I was referring to this:-
Quote: | SCALABLE 3D ENGINE AND EFFECTS
Updated 3D graphics engine provides realistic depiction of ocean swells, water reflections, and environmental conditions using the latest vertex and pixel shader technologies. |
I've indicated the appropriate piece in BOLD type, .... as it has bearing on the GeForce 6 Graphic Cards, .. with their new Shader Model 3.0 technology.
It had absolutely nothing to do with 'modding the graphics' .... not that I do anyway.
Just clearin' that up ...
Cheers

Tom,
I wasn't making reference to the video cards. My statement ment that the former military members who don't know much about modding graphics make up with our knowledge in tactics and systems. Plus, I quoted TexasAggie99's post...not yours. |
