Don't know if anyone has suggested such features as fitting subs with noise maker decoys, or fitting dd's with grappling hooks like in the movie "Below". Might add a little spice to the sim. Just an idea. |

There were countermeasures like the so-called BOLDS employed by U-Boats. This was certainly simulated in AOD, and certainly NOT simulated in SH3.

Hopefully, SH3 will simulate BOLDS, it would be unrealistic not to. |

How about simulating stuffing a dead crewmember into a torpedo tube and shooting him out?
And if there is no convenient corpse to hand, if you're really a ruthless Nazi you can create one by taking your pistol and shooting the most inefficient/stupid crew member on board!
"Schmidt, I need you to volunteer for a difficult duty. You'll get the Iron Cross First Class if you agree."
"Yes, sir!"
"Stout fellow! The Fuhrer will be pleased with you!"
BANG! <Schmidt falls dead>
"Right, into the torpedo tube with him, men!"
Just kidding! That would not encourage effective crew management skills in our players, now would it? |

Oh, now I understand why their crews were so large...
Joking apart, other than with the US-subs throwing out stuff to pretend the subīs been destroyed was NO common tactics among German U-Boats. As I sid before, they had BOLDS, a chemical thing distracting ASDIC. |
